Rehearsal Information Rehearsals will likely run Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at Hope Baptist Church. Tech week is April 2-5, 2018.
Performances Friday, April 6, 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All performances will be at the Slayton House Theatre in Columbia, Maryland.
Audition Information Auditions will be held on Saturday, December 16,2017 at Columbia Presbyterian Church, 10001 Route 108, Columbia, Maryland (across from Centennial Park). Students in grades 6-12 should sign up for a 10-minute audition slot at the link below. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Hope Baptist Church, 8801 Stephens Rd, Laurel, Maryland.
Homeschooled students in grades 3-12 are welcome to audition..
Students in grades 3-5 will audition as a group from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Please note that My Fair Lady does not have many roles for younger actors. Students should be prepared to do the following for their auditions: 1. Before coming to the audition, complete an Actor Information Form (*see above). 2. Sing "Happy Birthday" with the group. 3. Sing "Happy Birthday" or "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" individually. 4. Introduce yourself by saying your name, grade, and favorite thing about Christmas. 5. Answer questions that the director or producers may ask to learn more about your stage presence.
Students in grades 6-12 will sign up for individual 10-minute audition slots between 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Please do not request a specific slot by email; just use the online sign-up by clinking on the link below:
Students should be prepared to do the following for their auditions: 1. Before coming to the audition, complete an Actor Information Form (*see above), indicating the role(s) for which you are auditioning. 2. Sing a prepared song of your choice. Please bring a musical accompaniment track with no vocals to which you will sing along at the audition. This track should be on your own device (phone, iPod, etc.), cued up and ready to play once it as been plugged into a speaker that will be available at the audition. 3. Perform some brief singing exercises including note matching, singing in a round, holding a note, etc. 4. Read from a script for your desired role(s). Pre-selected script sections ("sides") will be provided at the audition but not ahead of time.

Our Mission Statement SLP, as a ministry of SCHC, is a 501-C3, non-profit organization that seeks to provide opportunities for pre-teens and teens to express themselves artistically through participation in annual theatrical productions.
Our Goals Encourage artistic expression as well as offer an educational environment to our students. Develop a spirit of ensemble among the cast, production team and all others involved in our productions. Develop and maintain good relationships with those we work with in our community. Provide our students with the opportunity for outreach in our community. Provide quality entertainment that glorifies God through theatrical productions.
